The Greatest Movie of All Time
This is and always has been my #1 favorite movie of all time. Sure, as years went by, that title was sometimes interchanged with Heat, Braveheart, Goodfellas, or another great movie that was hot for a few years, but officially nothing truly dismantled Jaws as the GOAT.

Words can scarcely do it justice, It's a movie that has to be experienced to understand its greatness. Endlessly rewatchable in any mood you are in at any time of the day at any time of the year, as well as endlessly quotable start to finish, combined with powerhouse performances by all four leading actors that really were not even necessary yet they all dug so deep into their scenes and dialogues, Jaws is a masterpiece of Hollywood and is definitely the greatest movie of all time.

And here's the kicker: this story actually happened in real life in 1916 in New Jersey, where five people were attacked within one week around the 4th of July, four deceased. Woodrow Wilson was actually called in to garner support to hunt the shark. Sure the movie has to take some liberties, but they're barely exaggerated. The story itself is mostly true.

Bonus: How was Robert Shaw not even nominated for a Best Supporting actor Oscar? He should have won easily as it's one of the best acting performances of all time, with Dreyfuss's Hooper not far behind.

    10/10.

    "Let the bodies pile high"
Jaws is the quintessential summer blockbuster and one of those "you know what, fair play this is actually really good" sort of classic films that still functions really well. The core being a really tight narrative focus, some smartly layered symbolism, a host of fantastic characters and some genuinely shocking sequences. It's sad that the now fairly talked-about mayor plot isn't really resolved and it does feel like a film split firmly in two but it bristles with fantastic moments and is an absolute blast to watch. Gradually becoming that rare thing of a historical noteworthy work that also still really communicates something.

One of Spielberg's most Iconic movies
Jaws is such an Amazing movie with very good dialogue and the dialogue seems very natural thanks to the awesome actors that were involved in this movie.

Some scenes are very good and sometimes terrifying too which is why this movie is considered a horror movie.

I really liked the characters especially Quint because he's such a funny man and a good character and a very good actor (rip) and even the other characters are good too!

Whenever there's a shark scene or a scary scene in particular they play this ICONIC sound and it's one of the most memorable things about this movie , the build up is very good too and the shark scenes are absolutely incredible and I really respect the work they did on the shark

Overall a very good movie 8/10.

    Perfect movie..
Quite possibly the greatest movie ever made.. I honestly can't find anything wrong with the movie.. the whole is honestly just great.. the soundtrack is iconic.. directing is incredible.. all of it is just great that's really all I can say.. This movie scared me as a kid.. the scenes with the 3 characters in the boat at night is so engaging.. the mayor is also a great side villian as well.. the whole movie is endlessly quotable.. Stephen King said your gonna need a bigger boat moment is the best line in cimea history.. I mean what more do I need to say it's just a great film from start to finish..

    Faultiest direction with fizzing chemistry
Family film night and my choice. The original blockbuster. This film redefined cinema. I've seen this classic many times so it was fun watching Sarah Erwin Jones & Jess scream and yelp through this. Spielberg's direction is faultless and the chemistry between the three leads fizzes. The U. S. S. Indianopolis speech is one of cinemas all time greats.

"Japanese submarine slammed two torpedoes into her side, Chief. We was comin' back from the island of Tinian to Leyte. We'd just delivered the bomb. The Hiroshima bomb. Eleven hundred men went into the water. Vessel went down in 12 minutes.

Didn't see the first shark for about a half-hour. Tiger. 13-footer. You know how you know that in the water, Chief? You can tell by lookin' from the dorsal to the tail. What we didn't know, was that our bomb mission was so secret, no distress signal had been sent. They didn't even list us overdue for a week. Very first light, Chief, sharks come cruisin' by, so we formed ourselves into tight groups. It was sorta like you see in the calendars, you know the infantry squares in the old calendars like the Battle of Waterloo and the idea was the shark come to the nearest man, that man he starts poundin' and hollerin' and sometimes that shark he go away... but sometimes he wouldn't go away.

Sometimes that shark looks right at ya. Right into your eyes. And the thing about a shark is he's got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, he doesn't even seem to be livin'... 'til he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then... ah then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin'. The ocean turns red, and despite all your poundin' and your hollerin' those sharks come in and... they rip you to pieces.

You know by the end of that first dawn, lost a hundred men. I don't know how many sharks there were, maybe a thousand. I do know how many men, they averaged six an hour. Thursday mornin', Chief, I bumped into a friend of mine, Herbie Robinson from Cleveland. Baseball player. Boson's mate. I thought he was asleep. I reached over to wake him up. He bobbed up, down in the water, he was like a kinda top. Upended. Well, he'd been bitten in half below the waist.

At noon on the fifth day, a Lockheed Ventura swung in low and he spotted us, a young pilot, lot younger than Mr. Hooper here, anyway he spotted us and a few hours later a big ol' fat PBY come down and started to pick us up. You know that was the time I was most frightened. Waitin' for my turn. I'll never put on a lifejacket again. So, eleven hundred men went into the water. 316 men come out, the sharks took the rest, June the 29th, 1945.

    Anyway, we delivered the bomb."

    What the...?
The acting on this one was atrocious!! Maybe in the '70s the movie was a big hit but when you watch the movie in our days, you see how terible the acting, the music, everything is!! It is like a messy parody. It is praise just by the ones who were teenagers then and now they are 60+ old years men/women! People like me, who came in this earth in the late '80s can't see in this movie anything but horrible acting, horrible music, horrible special effects! You all the nostalgic ones, can praise this, but sorry, not me. There are better shark movies those day, many times better than this atrocious ...thing. Of course i will get so kany thumbs down from the nostalgic ones and i don't give a spit! I have seen better acting in short movies.
