    Juvenile remake of a classic
I think it's important to start off by pointing out that CHIPS was directed by Dax Shepard. Keep in mind - this is the same person who a couple years ago publicly admitted to not seeing a reason to bathe his children unless they smelled or had dirt on their skin (his wife, Kristen Bell, also in the film, was in agreement). So if you haven't already seen this, that right there should tell you what kind of dialogue and jokes you'll be in for. I've only watched ten minutes of an episode of the original CHIPS, so I can't say I've seen much of it, but I know it was nothing like this pile of garbage. Starring as California Highway Patrol Officer Jon Baker, Dax Shepard and Michael Pena (FBI Agent Castillo/California Highway Patrol Officer Francis Llewellyn "Ponch" Poncherello) spend more time bickering than working cooperatively while fighting crime. I tried to watch it, but I just couldn't. It got on my nerves. And I like movies that are geared towards a male audience, because I'll take action over romance any day, but this remake was more or less made for 12-year-old boys. It was chock full of immature, low brow, crass, perverted humor. If the film was made as two highway patrolmen encountering challenges on their job, with clever jokes placed here and there, it would've had the potential to be a fun movie. But it was ruined with nonstop awkward and idiotic occurrences. Not everybody is cut out to be a director. I think celebrities are surrounded by a lot of yes men and women. It's important to have family, friends, and colleagues who aren't scared to be honest with you, especially when you're rich and famous, as that can make some people lose touch with reality (Mr. Shepard must not live in the same dimension as the rest of us, considering his aversion to bathing his own kids). Several other movie stars came out and said they have poor hygiene. That begs the question: why are we spending our money to watch any of the films these stupid people act in and/or direct??? Well, I'm not a part of that group - I haven't been to a theater in ages because it's gotten so expensive - but I mean society in general. And if the film comes on TV years after it's been in the theater, why spend your time watching it? Money and time are the same if you think about it - they can both be wasted. If you know a millennial or gen z'er who's never seen the original CHIPS, do not show them this movie first. In fact, even after they watch the original, still don't show this to them. Just one of the many ignorant movies coming out of Hollyweird.

If you're looking for something serious, look further
One can argue that this movie is cheesy and with cheap laughs. Well, I found it entertaining anyways. Just the right mix of action and dumb teenage humour (nope, I'm not a teenager)
