Military man, Charles Monroe King, writes a journal for his son.
This movie is based on a true story of real people and, from what I can find researching it, is very faithful to that true story.

He is a career military man, in the Army, he is at the home of his fellow Army man, when he meets the man's daughter. She is a reporter with the New York Times, they are both single, and they hit it off.

All this is happening in the late 1990s and while they are pursuing their relationship the NYC terrorist attach of the World Trade Center twin towers occurs, commonly called "9/11" on September 11th, 2001. After that the man is called to serve in Iraq.

Without getting into too much detail the man and the woman decide to have a child, even though they were not married, and she gives him a journal to write in for the son they would have, named Jordan. So, much of the last part of the movie is bringing to light the type of wisdom the father passed on to the son via that journal.

The movie, directed by Denzel Washington, is based on the best-selling book the mother wrote.

Good movie with a meaningful message. My wife and I watched it at home on BluRay from our public library.

    This Movie Is Boring
I like Michael B. Jordan but this movie was very boring. His son in the movie didn't look like the father or the mother. He young boy was light skin with curly hair making one think, he is mixed raced. Both the parents are dark skinned. I fell asleep on this movie.
