Powerful nad shine out of darkness
I always recommend this movie whenever someone ask me out. After watching it, I get some sort of empowerment excitement all of a sudden, this feeling is what always gave me shivers whenever I talked or remember about this movie.

I love how the movie showed me the other part of the world that I may not know until I watched it. Although there are plenty of movies out there that already talked about this, but the movie truly depict specifically how life at brothel really looks like -or worse-

I always think that movies are art where everyone can potray how gross or nice, sinful or kindful, and this how this movie really felt like.

Moreover, I think this movie is easy to understand at some point that it's suitable to watch on your boring or break days. The female lead truly showed me what persistance and "come back stronger" truly means. As a teenage girl who live under mediocrity, I am amazed that in other part of the world there are real people who experience the same or even worse as this movie depicted. And those, what I call is shining even after darkness of darkness go after you unpleasantly.

    Well done, Alia!
This film was so well-done. Spellbinding story, and superb performance by Alia Bhatt! If this were an American film. She'd be a shoe-in for an Oscar. Outstanding work in character growth. Heartwarming and awe-inspiring!

Alia Bhatt is already beloved, but this--as another reviewer said--takes her right out of her usual fare. This should have been challenging. But, Alia makes it feel like she breathed herself into the story. And, what a story! No spoilers, but this is a fascinating perspective on a lesser-known part of Indian history. And, how can we resist a not-cheesy story about female empowerment?
