Renfield

Having grown sick and tired of his centuries as Dracula's lackey, Renfield finds a new lease on life — and maybe even redemption — when he falls for feisty, perennially angry traffic cop Rebecca Quincy.

    I appreciate the attempt
Not bad, but I didn't really click with it enough.

Nicolas Cage is a nice piece of casting and delivers in the role of Dracula, as I'd expect to be honest... feels like a Cage sorta character! Nicholas Hoult and Awkwafina are decent, I've seen better from the latter elsewhere but her performance improves as this one progresses. Honestly, I would've reworked the film to revolve around Cage, rather than Hoult.

The story didn't really connect with me, as in I didn't get the required entertainment from it. It's alright, I just didn't really care for what I was watching - more like just acknowledging its existence, rather than actually sinking my teeth into what was happening onscreen. The humour could've been a bit stronger, too.

I appreciate the attempt. 'Renfield' just didn't work for me.

A good mix of comedy, fantasy/supernatural, and over-the-top action elements
Renfield is a decent movie for anyone wanting to watch something that takes vampires, comedy, crime, action, and maybe a little more, and mixes it all together in a pretty good and mostly action-focused movie taking place in a modern setting.

The movie mainly focuses on conflict between Renfield (Dracula's assistant/familiar) and Dracula himself, who both eventually get involved with the crime family that runs the city they're in, and the only police officer in that city who isn't under the crime family's influence. Renfield and the police officer later team up to defeat both the crime family and Dracula, though this doesn't come easily.

The CGI for some of the action scenes in the movie unfortunately looks odd and sticks out a bit, especially due to how much of a focus there is on it, although past that the rest of the movie should be pretty good. I'd recommend watching if you're interested in what it's about.

    Entertaining
I absolutely loved Nic Cage in this role. He is one of the best actors in the world.

Going into the movie I had, simply put, no expectations.

This was the most entertaining movie I've seen in the last few months.

Awkwafina did a good job as a goofy cop.

    Good acting all around.

The ambiance, music, fighting scenes all fit together.

I have nothing bad to say about this movie.

When watching, have some tissues ready. I cried laughing during parts of the movie. Tissues were used.

Very violent and gory combined with ridiculous humour and some satire. Dark and gritty.

A must watch for anyone with a sense of humour.
