    Deep and Intense
An Abused woman who managed to bring back her life into order and became a fine successful woman raising a beautiful daughter.

She thought she conquered her past with the psychopath she was married to ... The psychopath who controlled, abused and brainwashed her in order to thrive his ill self.. David Moore took advantage of an eighteen years old girl and left her with a Lifetime scar and trauma.

Once he reappeared she went insane.. her life turned upside down.

No one can really feel her terror, fear and panic ... All the horror came back from the past .

Rebecca hall was genuine in the movie .

She made me feel her deep agony, anger, fear and suffering.

She was not free till she killed the Beast who took her life as well .

    Get in my belly!
I thought this was an extremely interesting glimpse into the world of abuse, trauma and grief and the way it manifests physically and psychologically. This is such an extreme example of what is possible it is jarring and frightening.

With that being said, keep in mind this is much more a thriller than anything... and a slow moving one at that. It teeters the line between suspenseful and too slow, but edges out on the successful side. I think it was also on the verge of leaning repetitive at times as well.

Two major positives here were the plot and the acting. The story felt familiar yet so oddly specific and detailed that it twisted into something quite original. Unfortunately, the entire backstory was given to us in a spoon fed monologue spilling it all onto the table which felt just a little... odd and lazy. On the flip side of that it was an amazing opportunity for that actress to just smash a large chunk of dialogue that she killed. The acting across the board was superior in this film. Especially the mom, she killed it.

While keeping these positives in mind, something about this left me hanging a bit as a whole... I wanted more. I wanted more backstory, I wanted more intent on proclivities, I wanted more struggle and fight. I also wasn't a huge fan of the ending. Don't get me wrong, I understood it and appreciated it for what the last two scenes were giving us... it just felt a little lack luster and anticlimactic to me.

Regardless, this movie had a lot of positives, particularly the acting and was definitely thrilling. 5.5 rounding down to a 5. Would recommend.

Well thought-out psycho-thriller on traumatic disorder
A good psycho-thriller that can get a little ridiculous towards the end. However, kudos to the filmmaker for getting in there and letting the film evolve as its own beast, reaching a dark but logical conclusion. Good stuff, even if it lost me a little bit. The first hour is great, including an enthralling monologue from the wonderful Rebecca Hall, she's on top of this with her full range on display. Here's another psychological film built around her and I'm all for it. She plays a woman who manages her sex life with the same efficiency as she brushes her teeth, it all adds up to her detailed psychological profile. Tim Roth is great too as the supporting role (or rather undermining role), his character feels really menacing.

It's really sad how trauma works. This big stain that can't be washed away and stays there forever. It really sucks and the film does a great job of portraying how it can take over a life, no matter how good that life is, no matter how long it's been repressed. It stays there, impossible to share. That comes through and it shows that this film is very well thought out.

On a side note, I find it both tragic and hilarious (some will say they're the same thing) how men have been lectured for decades into having feelings only to end up mocked for mismanaging them. Damned if we do, damned if we don't.

Poor writing ruined the whole experience.
Although the movie is watchable and there's a bit of entertainment the story itself isn't that great. It starts promising, the mystery keeps you guessing what is going on, but then it all gets ruined by a very weak ending. Well that's only my opinion, but who comes up with such a terrible ending? Were they out of inspiration or what? The acting wasn't bad, and that from the whole cast, but the story was just bad, and with good actors alone you can't make a good movie. Too bad the story is that stupid, certainly the end, it kinda ruined the whole thing. I can't recommend this movie, don't wate your time with Resurrection.

    A sad state
So I started the movie and then the main character was having sex and when they were done she asked"How is the wife". Couldn't continue past that. It was the flippant way she said it. She knows the guy is married yet still has no problem letting this guy cheat on his wife. Marriage used to mean something, staying true, loyal and honest used to mean something!. Why is IMBD making us write a full essay? People don't want to read a 600 word review. We should be able to make it short and get to the point. Our country is going to hell in a handbag which can be seen in the movies that are just crap!

    Nah, didn't work!
There are only a handful of actors currently working in the industry that I respect from the bottom of my heart. Irrespective of what sort of movies they feature in, or what kind of characters they choose to play, to tell you the truth, those things are of no importance to me.

All I seek and care about is their performances, about how 'they' perform their parts. If you're still wondering, yes, Rebecca Hall counts as one of those admired ones, and yes, she yet again gave her very best, like she always does. Moreover, she might be the only positive down here (except for Tim Roth of course, he did an amazing job as well).

While it is absolutely the truth that the film caught my attention in the initial stage because I saw Rebecca Hall's name on the cast list; that was not the only reason though, all the trailers, and the promos, all looked interesting, and they kinda compelled me to visit, so I did.

Little did I know, disappointments will await.

It is about Trauma, it is about fighting your inner monsters, and overcoming your darkest fears, I know, I did get a hold of the core idea but the execution did not work for me, it just didn't. Barring a couple of great scenes (like the ending); the drama, the conflict, and the entire presentation; literally everything fell flat, everything for some odd reason came off as inconsequential.

And I don't seem to come up with any answers on 'Why' & 'How'.

    Stay away from this.
It's been a long time since I've seen a movie so absurd, meaningless and even offensive to intelligence. I don't think I can make up for lost time looking at such a pile of garbage. It is not even possible to make a synopsis since it does not make sense. Stay away from this thing.
