A Subpar Script with Quality Acting
Lacking anything particularly exciting at all, and tangling in depressing elements of old age emotional psychological, leads to 'Memory' being a hard film to like, despite excellent acting, some great dialogue and overall competent screenplay and set designs.

The problem is that the two major themes don't work together. Liam Neeson is playing an emotional distraught worrier and Guy Pearce is playing a confident thriller detective; definitely two different stories happening and the latter is far more interesting.

Martin Campbell is a highly effective and excellent director, but he needed to choose between the conflicting plots to create distinctive focus.

An Average Action Flick With Bad Cliches and Acting
'Memory' is a 2022 action thriller film starring Liam Neeson as Alex Lewis, a hitman who is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease. When he is hired to kill a young woman, he begins to question his motives and morality.

The movie has an unoriginal plot, bad clichés, and average acting. Neeson is typically solid in his role, but the supporting cast is weak, especially the Mexican detective (Harold Torres) and somewhat the FBI detective (Taj Atwal). Guy Pearce's character is also underdeveloped, cliched and shallow.

At over two hours long, 'Memory' feels overstuffed and bloated. The pacing is slow and the action scenes are mediocre. The film also relies heavily on banality, such as the corrupt cop trope.

Overall, Memory is an average action flick with a bad old chestnut story and almost amateurish acting. It is only watchable if you are a fan of Liam Neeson.

    5/10.

    What's wrong with people?
Why the low rating?? Why are prople giving it such lousy reviews?

This is a perfectly respectable movie! Since everything is so political now, I can only assume one or more people associated with this film has made some part of the woke establishment angry. Although I can't figure out why that would be. It has a variety of minorities and even several strong female leads.

It also has solid acting from all key characters, and everything else associated with higher rated movies. It feels much like a film noir style since it's rather somber with lots of darker filmed scenes. However, the story is solid and the movie kept my interest and attention throughout.

I would certainly recommend this movie to any movie goer who likes action and mystery movies, with a modicum of intelligence.

    Lame plot and bad acting
I must admit I had low expectations when I pressed play on this one. Yet another story created to let Liam Neeson use his low and intimidating voice. And to my surprise, it was even worse than I anticipated... Is this how Neeson is being punished by Hollywood for his comment with racial implication in 2019? I'm in no way supporting what he said, I thought it was awful, but surely, there must be other ways to make use of Liam Neesons talents than this? A forced and rather dubious plot, catastrophic acting from just about everyone accept for Neeson and Guy Pearce (what has he done wrong to be casted in this?), you almost get the feeling of the acting ensemble just roughing it out in the hope of it to be over as soon as possible. The police detective portrayed by Ray Stevenson surely has to be purely ironic?! And the actor playing Nussbaum I fear rehearsed his performance in front of the mirror thinking that merely by giving the character a gruesome facial expression, it would play itself. I don't know, he might be a really good actor, but surely, not even he himself can be satisfied with his performance here?

Don't see this, if you can't get enough of Liam Neeson taking out his revenge on bad people, watch Taken once more or even The Marksman. It's time spent much better than watching this.

A good cat and mouse game
A raid gone bad on a child trafficking ring results in Alex getting a contract to kill two. Those involved in running the ring need to tie up some loose ends, but when Alex finds one of the hits is a 13 year old child that was rescued in the raid, that is a step too far for him. When he finds out what is happening, he decides to take out some of the players. Meanwhile, the FBI and local police want to take out him. And the leaders of the trafficking ring need to take out anyone who could be a witness that would lead to them. It also involves corruption at the highest levels, and in all, makes for a very interesting movie. Alex has Alzheimers, and had intended to get out of the 'business' before he got his contract forced upon him.

    He was my favorite actor
Looks like the performances were bad on purpose, really bad performances and bad dialogs. Seems like streaming corporations are more interested in having exclusive content than good content... I just had to finish it because of the actors' history, but it wasn't pleasant at all, More like some pain, hopefully Liam will get a little more critic when accepting new roles. Agree on some comments that I read when saying that the last 4 movies have been awful. He is a great actor, but the productions lately, have a lot to envy his previous movies and work, maybe this is something a lot of actors are living these last years.
