    Furiosa a Mad Max story
Furiosa: A Mad Max Story" is a thrilling addition to the Mad Max franchise, delivering high-octane action and stellar performances. The film immerses viewers in its gritty, raw post-apocalyptic world.

The action scenes are meticulously choreographed, with intense car chases and explosive battles.

Chris Hemsworth shines in his role, bringing depth and nuance. Anya Taylor-Joy, as Furiosa, delivers a powerful and captivating performance, adding layers to her character.

In summary, "Furiosa" is a good movie with good action and good actors. Hemsworth and Taylor-Joy did their roles good. A must-watch for Mad Max fans and action enthusiasts.

Crippled by poor writing and flat acting by ATJ
The first half of Furiosa was promising and engaging. By the time you reach the halfway point, though, an unsettling malaise sets in due to heavy degradation of the writing and the realization that Anya Taylor Joy will have (practically speaking) NO LINES to speak. And then, you realize, she isn't cut out for this kind of role -- one that requires face acting (e.g. Reactions, intense emotion, nuanced and unique expressions, etc) instead of dialog -- and somehow she didn't hit the mark. In Queen's Gambit, and some others, she does a fine job of acting with nuance. Not in Furiosa. She mostly has one look, and it's flat. Now, Dinero can pull that off, him being one of the most preeminent actors with the ability to act powerfully without saying a word, just a look. Not so, in Furiosa, for ATJ. Baffling. More baffling that someone didn't catch that in rehearsals and demand fiercer acting. And then the writing. Oh my. What a fail. Not so much in the overarching story, but in the moments where the main characters have something to say. Hemsworth's lines and acting went from fun and curiously clever to flat and silly -- like the second half writing and acting was just mailed in. In my book, Furiosa is a PASS ON IT.

    Secondary
To sum up the main downside: it has way too many words. The beauty of the previous Mad Max movie was its lack of dialogue, paired with frenetic unstoppable carnage. This one is quite the opposite: it has a lot of dialogue and very little energy in the action scenes. There are some creative action moments here and there, but they're scarce.

It still has certain appeal to it - imagery is still beautiful, war rigs and other mechanical contraptions are still cool. Somewhat to a lesser degree and splendor of the previous movie, but still. Beautiful wasteland landscapes, and some backdrop of previously mentioned but not depicted places. It has good actors, too.

Sadly, acting doesn't really serve any goal: there's no great villainy in the main villain's actions, more of a pathetic and petty greed. Hence the revenge sequence is equally unsatisfying, save for perhaps the very last moment. The main protagonist looks weak and rarely as fierce as Furiosa did in the previous movie. The actions of secondary characters remain secondary and inconsequential. Even the effects feel secondary and less believable than in the previous film.

It's not bad, really - but it is, for the lack of a better word, secondary.

Surprisingly one of the best action movies I've seen in a while
This was definitely the best movie ive seen this year and I'll tell you why. Surprisingly Hemsworth steals the show as Dementus the psychotic wasteland warlord the best way I can summarize him is imagine Trevor Phillips as a MadMax villain. Onto the plot so the film follows Furiosa throughout her whole life from when shes a kid to when she's an adult, also this movie is in chapters, anyways the CHP1 shows how she gets kidnapped and her mother being slaughtered before her eyes then on in CHP2 shows how a couple years have passed and after a trade with Joe Furiosa is now a wife of joe, but she escapes and lives amongst the peasants and becomes one. CHP3 shows her moving up the ranks in the Immortan world and how she plans to escape and get her revenge upon Dementus for ruining her life. I don't wanna spoil the whole movie so I'll get on to why this film is so great. Mainly the performances, everyone gives it their all from Hemsworth and Taylor Joy to actors in smaller Roles like Sean Millis and Angus Sampson everyone here knew how great it was gonna be, and everyone gave Oscar deserving performances. The setting and the plot are both amazing the setting just seems like a desert at first but it's so much more than that it's so much more than that it's nightmare fairytale wasteland of medieval proportions, and the plot just seems like your average revenge plot but turns into this humble servant to battered warrior story with revenge element not coming back into play until Dementus brutalizes Furis love interest (who I'll get to)and Furiosa goes beyond vengeance. The main thing I didn't like about it is the sorta shoehorned in romance plot Furiosa and the truck driver who's kinda just a guy version of her he's not a bad character just doesn't have a lot of development in the character department of things but that's my only negative. I can't get over how great Hemsworth was in this role I never thought he was a bad actor just never thought he was capable of such an incredible performance definitely a contender for best supporting actor at the Oscar's this year. Anyways I rate this an 8 out of ten check this movie out while it's still in theaters.

    SUBLIME ACTION...!
Currently in release we have George Miller's (Lorenzo's Oil/The Witches of Eastwick) return to the wasteland, now a prequel tracing Charlize Theron's younger self, now played by Anya-Taylor Joy (& Alyla Browne as her younger self) as she's abducted by some nomad bikers who offer her up to the burgeoning yet dunderheaded leader, played by Chris Hemsworth, who in turn raises her as part of his crew. Soon enough after some time, they come upon Immortan Joe's (now played by Lachy Hulme after originator Hugh Keays-Burne passed) compound which Hemsworth tries to take over to no success but after he does manage to take over Hulme's Gas Town (one of 3 entities he controls), Hemsworth becomes a figure to be reckoned with. As a balm to their agreement Browne is offered up to join Hulme's bride horde but using her wiles, she manages to escape her oppressors & reinsert herself, now w/Joy taking the reins, finding a position w/their gas rig driver, Tom Burke, who gets her trained for the big revenge to be had in the film's thrilling sustained finale. Picking up pretty much where the last entry left off but w/some chapters & breathing room added to cushion the narrative makes this a must see in the theaters just to marvel at what Miller, now in his 80's, can still conjure up putting people a 1/3 his age to shame. Hemsworth's real life wife, Elsa Pataky, shows up in a couple of roles w/Angus Sampson, the private eye on Netflix's the Lincoln Lawyer, here playing the head mechanic.
