    Thoroughly entertaining evening!
Having read a lot of other reviews it is clear that some of these reviewers are lacking a British sense of humour. The dialogue is wonderfully delivered by an excellent selection of actors. Another reviewer suggested that it was a perfect marriage of Guy Ritchie and Quentin Tarantino. My thoughts exactly. You are not supposed to take this seriously. Not the plot, the technical realism or the characters. Brad Pitt is perfect in the title role and once again shows his ability to deliver an excellent comedic performance. I don't expect everyone to like it because we all have different tastes but this Brit loved it.

An absolute mess, but has it's moments
The good stuff...some great fight scenes and action. Soundtrack is very good. A great cast and Tangerine was excellent. Looks great.

Yes, I know, the good list is pretty short.

The not so good list: Acting isn't great.

Tries too hard to be funny and hip.

The great cast is pretty much wasted.

Brad Pitt, who is pretty good in most things is very annoying in this.

    Way way way too long.

Sandra Bullock....what has happened to her face🙁.

Plot is nonsensical (in fact, nonsensical plots in other movies, mock bullet train for being too nonsensical).

The guy from kickass - accent was terrible (apologies if that's his real one)

Feels a bit kingsman-y but set on a train and not quite as good as that sounds🤔.

Worth a watch for the good stuff....

    It's funny
Good camera work, beautifully cinematic scenes. The visuals alone are one reason to see this movie, and I typically prefer outdoor filmography but they managed to make these striking. The cast is great with the exception of the russian daughter. She did well, I just find that actor rather annoying in the face. Can't get past it for some reason. Lemon and Tangerine are absolutely hilarious and sweet. Their bickering and Ladybugs commentary is great. Overall this movie is perfect as a goofy action comedy, my only complaint was the very brief sex scene at the beginning. It wasn't funny or necessary in any way.

    Hollywood takeover
There's a suitcase. There's a snake. There are various westerners on board a train in Japan. They are all killers with agendas.

It's a lot of familiar faces. It's a lot of western faces on a Japanese train. It's a little weird. I kept expecting an explanation. For awhile there, Chinese movies would add a few Hollywood actors to appealing to western audiences. That's the vibe I'm getting from this. I would rather have a satisfying explanation. This is more a Hollywood takeover. This movie is a lot of action fun. All these characters get me lost at times. Of all the actors, Joey King seems to be trying hardest although I like Brian Tyree Henry most. This is like one of those Japanese commercials with Hollywood stars pitching unknowable products. It can be fun, but it doesn't always make sense.

Borderline: Why use mental illness as a joke? (Spoiler)
The movie was not catchy at all, with all the plots and everything. I'm not going to go into the details about racism and stuff because one thing that got me was mental illness.

On one of the final scenes Pitt drops a line acusing the character of Joey King of having a borderline personality disorder just cause (out of the blue), she shows up out of control with a machine gun(?), yelling and screaming.

During the whole movie she seeks for revenge as she is isolated and rejected by her father.

The point is: to categorize a person using no scientific matters or no diagnosis in a movie exposed for millions of people to watch is just a HUGE ERROR TO STIGMATIZE the illness. Me as an implosive borderliner myself struggle a lot with family problems, self-mutilations, crisis, and watching this movie as a huge trigger for me, imagine for others. Stop stigmatizing diseases!

    Thoroughly enjoyable - disappointing end.
I enjoyed the film from start to finish. It had fun characters- some less so than others, namely the 'girl child' who wasn't a great actor- it had fun scenes and great action. For the most part it was well written and directed and all knitted together beautifully... until about 30 minutes till the end, where bad CGI and really unnerving green screen usage set you out of the action, and a well plotted story turned to a random string of events.

Which let me down, as at that point I paused the film and sat thinking about the direction the film was going in, as the story was scripted almost perfectly toward the main character, ladybug, being the white death, as he keeps killing people with their own weapon. An amazing twist which showed that HE orchestrated the whole thing in order to finally kill the last two members of the crime family he infiltrated, and get revenge on all the other assassins that screwed him over throughout his past career.

All in all it had a big buildup which simply fizzled out at the end.

Not a bad film, it certainly shows the potential of those involved, and was an enjoyable watch.

It just could've been so much better.

    Tarantino-esque
I say it's similar to a Tarantino film in that it is difficult to figure out what May happen next, and story lines are revealed as you go along, clarifying events, making them make more sense than they did originally. This film is funny, but more so, FUN. Fun to watch, and the filmmaking is interesting, with touches of brilliance in the way it is filmed. Some great actors make cameos, and the main actors in this ensemble shine quite brightly. It is death on the Nile for the modern audience, a shallow dime store story told in modern day fashionable filmmaking. I think you'll like it if you give it a chance!

Sorry. It just ain't that good.
The creative team got too caught up in their echo chamber of "I'm too cool for school" to realize that their project was off the rails. It makes an attempt to be a high budget Pulp Fiction, but the result is just over-priced pulp. More...how do you have a story in Japan and only have 20% of the main actors Japanese??? Also, how do you make all this noise and break all these things without anyone in the train questioning all the chaos? I started clock watching midway through the movie ready to get off the train myself. Perhaps the only saving grace is the neon backdrop of Japan styling that makes for cinematic interest.

Not a favourite, but no complaints
A surprisingly fun action movie that hits all the notes you expect to find in an action movie in a refreshing way.

This film somewhat feels like what would happen if you took the Murder on the Orient Express concept and turned it into an action movie instead of a mystery. You lose a lot of good story-telling, but you end up with a lot of fun - which is honestly all I really wanted out of this movie.

Bullet Train hits all the action beats you hope and expect to find. It does not really do anything too new, but it is a good break from all the heavy dramas out in the world today.

I think most audiences would have a fun time with this movie. No one will call it their favourite, but very few would complain about watching it.

That was fun. One of the best of 2022
Not at all what I was expecting. I expected an action movie, that's it. This is one, but it goes above and beyond. Dialogue is superb, what a fun movie to watch. The film does an exceptional job at delivering a compelling and engaging story as well as finding a way to create a connection to almost all characters, to a point where I found myself rooting for almost all. There's depth to it. Also, the scenes where characters go into flashbacks, these gave me a Guy Ritchie vibe, and since I am a huge Guy Ritchie fan, that was a plus for me. Amazing performances (Brad Pitt's character promoting this "zen vibe" was a breath of fresh air!) and great cast overall. This is such an entertaining movie to watch, that I do consider it one of the best films of 2022.
