I wanted to believe but it's another average western
This movie could be so much and it's just an average slow western with very long silent shots.

It's my first review so I don't wanna be too hard.

Let's start with what did not work in the movie: That damn kid was so annoying. How can he actually lived there until his age and not die already? He complained the hole time about the most absolute basics thing that are common sense for those years. Like dude you don't leave a knife next to a outlaw guy that you just met.

The bad guys are just wrong, everything about them it's so cliche. "The badass leader" full of boring and not that badass dialogues. Also insanely smart that could find out instantly that henry was a gunslinger legend, but could not even think in using Henry's brothers in law in exchange of something valuable, like maybe the money? Instead he decided to shot him in the head to be square with someone that he just met? It's just lazy.

Then the "Skilled immigrant" that know everything about tracking but can't even shoot when they are like 8 vs 1 guy. And the other guy that obviously would disobey and take a solo ride to get the money making the most awkward and idiotic move of the world: crouch down the house with 3 people inside.

On the other hand there are some positive things: photography , locations and costumes are on point, you can really feel the vibe. The lead actor was very believable with his performance you can somehow feel his past in the way he delivered his performance.

    A great pleasure to watch
An absolutely brilliant western movie, which from the very get-go has one attached to the screen, to witness an epic western drama, a superb western story which in a relative short space of time manages to touch subject of fartherhood, living in the presence with ghost from the past, moral of man, ect.

Fantastic perfomance by Tim Nelson, and Stephen Dorff adds another to the belt.

Best movie Ive seen in a long time, such an likeable honest movie all around. Great cinematography, perfect colourgrading, raw and authentic.

Others western from within last 10 years I find worth a watch; The Homesmen.

    Godless (mini series)
