I wanted to believe but it's another average western
This movie could be so much and it's just an average slow western with very long silent shots.

It's my first review so I don't wanna be too hard.

Let's start with what did not work in the movie: That damn kid was so annoying. How can he actually lived there until his age and not die already? He complained the hole time about the most absolute basics thing that are common sense for those years. Like dude you don't leave a knife next to a outlaw guy that you just met.

The bad guys are just wrong, everything about them it's so cliche. "The badass leader" full of boring and not that badass dialogues. Also insanely smart that could find out instantly that henry was a gunslinger legend, but could not even think in using Henry's brothers in law in exchange of something valuable, like maybe the money? Instead he decided to shot him in the head to be square with someone that he just met? It's just lazy.

Then the "Skilled immigrant" that know everything about tracking but can't even shoot when they are like 8 vs 1 guy. And the other guy that obviously would disobey and take a solo ride to get the money making the most awkward and idiotic move of the world: crouch down the house with 3 people inside.

On the other hand there are some positive things: photography , locations and costumes are on point, you can really feel the vibe. The lead actor was very believable with his performance you can somehow feel his past in the way he delivered his performance.

    A great pleasure to watch
An absolutely brilliant western movie, which from the very get-go has one attached to the screen, to witness an epic western drama, a superb western story which in a relative short space of time manages to touch subject of fartherhood, living in the presence with ghost from the past, moral of man, ect.

Fantastic perfomance by Tim Nelson, and Stephen Dorff adds another to the belt.

Best movie Ive seen in a long time, such an likeable honest movie all around. Great cinematography, perfect colourgrading, raw and authentic.

Others western from within last 10 years I find worth a watch; The Homesmen.

    Godless (mini series)

Just like Mom used to watch
I've been waiting for an Old Western style movie for many years. This one fits the bill.

It builds a centralized story and location with main characters and a feeling of right vs wrong on multiple levels, without adding in too many characters.

It's a comfortable journey followed by intensity in layers of motion as each connecting storyline ebbs and flows into another, leading you directly into the face of the man himself. As you dance with him into a climatic sea of bullets and bad men, the haziness of right and wrong becomes blurry in your soul.

Don't miss this one. Best of the attempts at a great Old Western movie 🍿

Old Henry is destined to be a classic!
I was looking through the cable list for something I could watch that had a decent rating. I never heard of this movie but I didn't have anything to lose except a little time. I never write reviews, but for this film, I just had to. I've been going to the movies for over 65 years. This western is special. A main character that is convincingly thoughtful & knowledgeable because of life experience. We don't understand until later how knowledgeable, but when revealed, it all makes sense. For the outlaws, it is an uh ohh moment. His son has no idea of who his farmer father really is and being a teenager, disrespects him until the last, when it's too late. I would vote this Best Picture and Best Actor. It will be a classic!

    Superb movie and outstanding preference
This is my first review of a movie that really good.

The story is unique as well as the casting preference of the actors.

Loved the protagonist of the movie.

Wish if they include his past.

It would be a great element in the movie.

Sadly I did not wish for this ending.

I was hoping if there is another way to end it.

I really enjoyed every bit of the movie.

All the actions and the emotions.

I was so a tracked to the story.

    Highly recommend this movie.

I was hoping for more action of that old Henry.

I think it is better in so many ways than other

western movies which consider waste of time.

    Good western, Great twist
Thoroughly enjoyed this movie, Tim Blake did a fantastic job and the build up for the ending was well done. Don't get a lot of noteworthy westerns nowadays so I appreciate a good one when I see it!
