    Please, eat them!
There's not much to say about this sad excuse for a movie. It tries to cash in on the pretty decent "The Reef", but fails, fails and fails again.

The script is godawful, the actors are so very talentless, character development is non existent and the camerawork is way below average.

I just stuck to the movie and finished watching it in hope of the women dying ... and it even disappointed on that account. It lacks suspense, blood and pretty much everything that's important for a shark and/or survival movie.

Avoid this movie. It's not interesting for fans of any genre. Not even "it's so bad, it's good".

Much better than I expected and it has character development
I have to disagree with most of the reviewers insofar as if there is one failing with many shark films is that there is a lack of character development. The Reef: Stalked devotes a third of the movie towards character depth and deals with the issues of domestic violence, personal loss and grief as a backdrop and lead-in to the main game...the shark.

The lead actors grow up and learn how to deal with their own crises and I find that commendable in this type movie.

The acting is competent TV level "Neighbours" and that's far better than what you'll see on TUBI.

Yet again the Great White shark gets a bum deal.

Great White sharks don't like human flesh they prefer seals, fish and dolphins but they are relentless in the pursuit of their prey. However, after the first bite they'd lose interest. A Tiger shark on the other hand simply loves us and places us high on it's menu so howabout bringing that on in a movie.

Special effects were OK but the film had a sub-standard ending.

On a personal level I kept looking at the weathered rocks and had this "I've been there" feeling and that's because it was filmed near Bowen, Queensland which is part of the southern the Whitsundays.

WTH, I lived near there and used to swim at a beach in Bowen. Needless to say I used to go the islands quite often as well. No wonder it had a familiar feeling.

Coming back to movie there are a number of faults.

    1. At one point we see that the water is choppy and the next shot shows us calm tropical waters.

    2. At times, if you look closely you can see that it is filmed close to shore.

    3. Things just seem to appear in the boat...not good!

All in all this isn't a bad movie it just could have been better.

I'm giving this a solid six rating and for what it's worth the original "Reef" movie chomps this for dead.

    Please end already
My family and I have been rooting for the shark to win the last hour. Sadly he died before all the terrible acting did. They all say in a boat staring at dark water looking clueless for the majority of the film. It was very predictable how the motor stopped working. And I'm not sure if they ever got help for the little girl on the island. Overall my least favorite shark movie I have ever seen. There was just too much doing nothing while the shark smacked the boat over and over and over while everyone in the boat sat there scared to death unwilling to move. It was very boring. We all will go to sleep disappointed we wasted our time tonight.

    Grade A Shark B Movie!
I can honestly say I have never watched any shark film, where everyone has no interest in paddling to safety! Even down to the bailing water out of the boat to stop it sinking bit -- nothing!

There was a lot of pootling around on the water, even when they've been attacked by the shark, they just sat on the water and did nothing (other than tell it off!). Also, the journey back appeared to be 100 times longer than heading out with no land in sight...!

I was also surprised that this had 4.4/ 10, I can only surmise that the 4.4 was for the shark -- as he was the best bit, consistant, and great, and white, and even that was dodgy CGI!

Dumb-Asses Go Kayaking in the Pacific - The Reef: Stalked
Kayaking is for rivers; not oceans. Going Kayaking in oceans is just asking for trouble. I was rooting for the shark to eat both of them. Better to eliminate a dumb gene pool early on. The acting and dialogue is terrible. The shark (or shark machine) is the best actor in the film. The scenery is beautiful, but as soon as these people ioen their mouths with the lunchtime dialogue (a script and dialogue that is written during a lunch hour), one begins rooting for the shark. Surely, you will have much better luck just roaming the multiplex and choosing any cartoon or superhero movie; even a three star film is better than this junk.

    Way below average shark movie
And thats it. Nothing special to see here. Acting is ok, cgi is ok, but the plot is very poor writen. Its the kind of movie to watch when you're totally bored and when there's nothing else to do or to watch.
