A Disappointing Instalment To A Great Series
This was not a great instalment to watch. I did not really enjoy it. It was a letdown of a film. The series should have ended with the fifth instalment. The crew did not put any kind of effort into creating this film. The storyline was really weak. The cast selection was not great at all. They did not connect to the storyline nor to their respective characters. This instalment does not reveal anything at all to viewers. This was a bad way to end the series (if it is the final instalment). This film lost chemistry multiple times throughout the storyline. There were multiple parts throughout the film that I was not a fan of. Viewers will not enjoy watching this instalment. It is really disappointing.

    Not your Ice Age
Ice cold - no pun intended. How to ruin a franchise some might also say. And it goes through many things I reckon. Optically (this really does not look nearly as good as any of the other Ice Age movies or the Scrat one shots) but also when it comes to the voice cast. Although to be fair, the new voices do their best - with Simon Pegg being the only one returning (from the famous cast the other movies had).

The story will hold up - when it comes to what kids expect I guess. But for any adult I doubt it will do much. Still even kids have been spoiled (no pun intended) and they expct better quality all around. It is really a shame what has been done ... at some moments I thought this can't be real ... and obviously it isn't - it's an animated movie, but of course I mean how it was done and how it looks. Especially the dinosaurs ... not sure what people were thinking. One thing is for sure, it's better they didn't go theatrically with this ... even just releasing it on stream ... too much or rather too little.
