Well well. This was as crafty as I expected. I was looking for a decent movie and I found this.

    Nearly perfect!

Without a second thought I put the movie on and said this is going to be a great movie - which I never do - and it was. The perfect actor to play the cutters role. Quiet focused and artfully skilled in cutting and making clothes. But keep watching because you will see this quiet very demure and agreeable older gentlemen has many secrets to share.

The 1950's mobster theme story line is only the surface. I don't want to give away too much of the movie so get comfy and enjoy this movie!

    An excellent, underrated film!
It's a very charming, beautifully shot and tension packed film! The actors are doing an amazing job and all the plot lines come to a satisfying completion. Filmmakers could learn a lot from this movie.

The music sets the tone immediately, as does the Englishness of the main actor. There are great little subtle symbols all throughout the film and hints to the surprising, a little absurd but in the end welcome plot twist.

Time flies while watching it. It's a great example of its genre (which I don't even want to name here because it would be somewhat spoiling it).

The costumes and direction are also excellent. Well done!

    Another triumph for Mark Rylance
Superbly crafted story, and the lead role carried off brilliantly by Rylance. As always, his acting is in another class. The suspense was handled consistently well, and just can't imagine anyone not enjoying this film.

It is far closer to being a stage play than a film, but I don't see that as a drawback. I have given this 8 not because of any particular flaw, but simply because I reserve the higher ratings for the best multi-series productions. It seems only fair to do that.

But this is a gem of a production, with top class acting from all the cast plus some wonderful music by Alexandre Desplat. Very strongly recommended.

    An Old-Fashioned, Sophisticated "Clue"-Like Chiller
5 Reasons to Watch "The Outfit"

    1. An old-fashioned whodunit with the wit and humor of Hitchcock. It's also a brilliant whydunit and howdunit - like watching a serious and sophisticated take on the classic adaption of the board game "Clue".

    2. Taut suspense that is hightened by the restriction to a single-set environment with moments of genuine human foibles and nail-biting sequences of "how am I going to wiggle myself out of this sticky situation".

    3. Gangsters in 1950s Chicago. Noir elements such as violence, bloodshed, deceit, lies, and betrayal. Twists and turns await.

    4. Top-notch costumes, set design, and crisp cinematography.

    5. Stellar performances by Zoey Deutch, Dylan O'Brien, and Johnny Flynn. But a wonderfully balanced (restrained, yet emotionally charged) and masterful performance by Mark Rylance as Leonard, the tailor (excuse me...the cutter 😏).

    That's a nice movie
First of all, I have to admit that I'm not a fan of those kind of movies, but I decided to watch that movie because of Zoey Deutch and Dylan O'Brien. The plot of the movie was really interesting and I decided to watch that movie because of the positive reviews. The storyline was kinda well-written and there were too many plot twists during the movie. The characters were very interesting and well-developed, but not really likeable (actually, only Zoey's characters was likeable). The filming location of the movie was only one and it was just nice. The casting was really good and I really enjoyed their acting. Of course, it was a really intense movie and there were too many unexpected twists. In my opinion, the storyline was kinda complicated sometimes, but gladly everything was well-explained near the ending. The ending scene was definitely unexpected and I really liked it. Overall, it was just a nice movie that I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

    Great suprise
This movie is a real gem! Superb acting, great suspense with a lot of plot twists.

    Highly recommended.

This shows that you do not need a big budget to make a good movie. If you add character development, fantastic acting, suspense and a slow build up, you have all the ingredients needed for this little gem of a film.

The craftsmanship is a nice little bonus as well, as it gives some insight as to how clothing from a high quality standard was made.

It all adds to the credibility of the storyline and sets the stage for this murder mystery feel.

I went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised to find something like this.

This is a wonderful drama and character study. One of the best things about the film is that it uses relatively unknown actors so you never know who is going to be killed next. Every one of these actors does a great job, though none as good as the lead actor.

The story starts off a little slowly and, in fact, and if there's any reason for a 9 (instead of a 10) it's the slow pace. But the story has so many twists and turns, and when the action starts, it just keeps coming. I defy you to figure out how it's going to end.

I also liked the photography and the costumes. The film is a little claustrophobic as it's almost entirely confined to the tailor's 2 rooms.

Do yourself a favor and watch it.
