(2023) God Is A Bullet CRIME DRAMA THRILLER/ ACTION

Adapted from the novel by Boston Teran co-written and directed by Nick Cassavetes that opens with a young lady being abducted we find out later that the mother who was killed was her actual mother but that the guy we thought was her father was actually her step father. Her actual father, was a homicide detective, Bob Hightower (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and he is in search for his daughter, Gabi Hightower (Chloe Guy) and has no clue where she might be. And it is like this until she comes across one of the members, Case (Maika Monroe) we find out used to be abducted just Bob's daughter used to be and agrees to help him retrieve her back to him.

Thoroughly depressing and unrealistic plot, bailed halfway in. Don't waste your time with this one
One of the worst movies I have ever seen. It's as if the movie is bipolar, it makes absolutely no sense. This overly long, sadistic, gritty art house action/thriller/wannabe neo-noir film doesn't deserve to be on everyone's worst films of 2023 list. The only thing more tragic aside the life-story of the main 2 female characters is the writing in this film. Acting follows closely behind to wrap this poorly delivered story in a two and a half hour movie that i couldn't wait to end. Sad considering that if this was done in a more "True Detective" style, it could have been a one of the better movies of the year.

Different, dark, tense, violent, well acted
Based on review score of 5.6, didn't really expect much, and as with all movies i watch, if it had not caught my attention,(drawn me in) within 20 minutes i'd have turned it off And on to the next one.

So i did watch the entire movie, as it certainly caught my attention. I liked the two main characters, especially the gal as she was fiesty.

The film was certainly Different, also Dark, tense, Violent,, but not Too much that i couldn't watch, as in the latest "Saw" movie.

It was very well acted and could have been a much "Bigger" movie and more on peoples radar, with just some extra attention to detail, mainly in latter stages and interaction with the main characters in ending scenes, which did not inspire "Real concern" and "Connection" with them and their interactions. It is still well worth watching and one of the few in recent times that i'd watch all through.

Very decent movie, which i think deserves a higher score than it has. Even though it seems missing slightly to have you caring more for the main charcters, it is still a worthy watch.
