tl-24311 - 27 May 2024 Chloe should have been played by an Australian Actor Enjoyable but no real character connection which was disappointing. Chloe should have been played by an Australian Actor. Chloe sounded like an African, a New Zealander and sometimes an Australian. The sets were a bit fake looking at times. The characters found way too clues way too quickly and easily. The last scene was with the two ships being destroyed was very unsatisfying. It would of been more fun if they were a connected team working together rather than double crossing each other. The ending was a bit weak and the final scenes dragged out far too long. It's worth a watch for entertainment value only.
niche-03437 - 29 March 2024 Chloe's "accent" is the perfect analogy for this mess. Among tge films many, many flaws, Sophia's acting takes the cake.
Not only is this is no way even close to doing the game justice, but Chloe's "Australian accent" is such an insult to Australia lol. As an american I apologise for this travesty.
It was a nothing accent, something of no origin lol. From time to time she makes it sound abit British and a little "kiwi" amongst the whatever tf else she was trying to do. But NONE of it was Australian, not even close!
Not only did she have absolutely no clue how to do an accent, but it even seems like they didn't hire a dialect coach AND the director was like "sounds Australian to me, good enough". 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mynameisroman - 19 February 2024 better than expected After watching the short film with Nathan Fillion (which was awesome) i seriously doubted this one since Holland is a bit too young for the Role. He still looks like a boy while Nathan Fillion really looked like the real Nathan Drake. But he is in his 50s now so it won't make much sense any more to cast him for this movie. So how well did Holland in his role? Well, actually not too bad. He still looks a little too young but it kind makes sense since he's at the beginning of his journey. It they are planning to make sequels then Holland might eventually fit really well into his role. And if Mark Walberg grows a mustache we might finally get his characters real look eventually. So there is actually a lot of potential for future sequels here. And i really want to see a sequel even though this movie was slightly above mediocre. I think they missed a lot of potential here and could have done a better job at times. But its still very entertaining and the only reason why i didn't give it a 7 rating is because i don't think i want to watch this movie a second time. I rather play all the games again :-) so good movie but not great. Yet potential for sequels :-)
sujanfaster - 31 December 2022 A raw product I am writing the review for this movie almost 10 months later, which should probably indicate how forgetful the movie is. I am primarily writing this review as a log and nothing else. I haven't played the game Uncharted at all so I wouldn't do any justice comparing this movie to the game. This movie solely depends on Tom Holland's charm and popularity to carry it all the way. Walhberg just exists doing Walhberg things and not in a good way. The action sequences are pretty basic and nothing like that hasn't been seen before. Thankfully the movie isn't very boring and the shortened runtime helps.
This could be called a popcorn flick, but not all of the kernels have been cooked well enough.
AllyMac123 - 22 December 2022 I gave it 2 stars cos my 11 year old loved it I hate it when good actors do movies for the big bucks, instead of for the art. Every plot twist & every line spoken had been done 10,000 times before. There was no chemistry between Mark W & Tom H. It would've been hard not to resent the old man jokes & Tom's shirtless on-screen time. Tom's bar tending gig didn't make him look smooth or attractive, just another cliche in the movie. I think the only cliche not in the movie was a guy on a Harley drinking coke from a glass bottle. Let's sum it up and say, today's greats, Cillian Murphy, Christian Bale, Ewan McGregor, wouldn't have signed up for this.
harryanjames - 26 November 2022 Such a shame Love the games. And like the actors. But this just sucks.
Part of the fun of the game is the relationship between the older Sully and younger Nate but Mark Walburg just isn't Sully. Even psychically the cast don't match the games and I think this important to the franchise.
Poorly cast. And predictable storyline. They could've so much more with this. The acting wasn't bad and the cgi / sound not bad either but this just didn't feel right from start to finish (I finished after about an hour). I did try to finish but just wanted to play the games. Can't see how they can do a sequel either. Shame.
coltsw-10803 - 12 November 2022 The STUPIDEST beginning of ANY movie EVER. If giving away the first few seconds of the opening scene of a movie is a spoiler, then: SPOILER ALERT!
I was so pissed at this idiotic nonsense that I quit this trifling fecal matter before I had even finished watching the first idiotic scene. The unknown actor (the little lead guy who nobody has ever even heard of) wakes up to find himself dangling from several pallets of cargo that are trailing out the open back end of a large transport airplane (a C-130?) while it is traveling at a few hundred miles per hour, several thousand feet in the air. Yet his hair-do is hardly getting mussed and the rushing wind has no effect on his movements. Then he (the awkwardly moving, obviously fake, computer generated version) is able to actually FLY back into the airplane, leaping from pallet to pallet - AGAINST THE WIND RUSH - while dodging bullets, killing assassins who are equally impervious to the laws of physics and gravity, and doing all kinds of other stupid, supernatural feats that only a computer or a cartoon character could accomplish.
SERIOUSLY, WHO WRITES THIS LUDICROUS TRASH?
So many great stuntmen and women are out of work now because filmmakers and Hollywood in general prefer such unrealistic, annoying and boneheaded CGI nonsense (which is not even well done) to great stunts performed by skilled and talented humans. Once I saw this awful idiocy at the very beginning of the opening scene, I was done with the rest of what just has to be lame and stupid movie. And I had read so many comparisons to Raiders of the Lost Ark. No damn way. Indiana Jones never even tried to fly. And that great classic wasn't ruined by tired old CGI bullfeces. Like modern music, modern movies suck so badly. Technology has replaced talent.
dmslbraune - 2 November 2022 Simple but entertaining I love treasure hunters and would give this a 6 if the person I watched this with hadn't been so satisfied. It depends on what you like.
This movie offers easy entertainment via good action, visuals and much but mediocre humour. It is hardly thrilling or complicated. There are action scenes I won't forget soon and I liked the occasional parkour moves.
What I didn't like is that the characters are mostly simple and hardly develop. At least the most interesting one is Nathan Drake. Unfortunately the traps are held as simple as the characters. Only one is interesting but you shouldn't think about how much sense it makes. This tip applies to a few things in the movie.
