    Great Movie
A great movie and an extraordinary perrfomance from Russel Crow. An history about the true friendship, and waht a man can do if knows that his about to die, but also what a man is capable to do because of the money, if in some kind of trouble he´s capable even to betray a firend, a very good friend. Very good history.

A good performance of all the actors, i liked the most off course the main caracter, the one and only Russe Crow, that allready has.allready used to it .A great scene is the moment that the main carachter goes and takethe truth serum, letting us knowing that he had some secret intention.

It´s very much worth seeing it!

Starts out weak, but gets better!
Poker Face starts out weak, but gets better! The movie's start of the band of kids was nice, but Poker Face divulges into self-absorbed rich people with regrets. A therapy session about selfishness, and going out to a retreat to find ones self is slow. Well Crowe has dyeing regrets and wants to play pokers and with his friends. If the viewer can sit threw the first half Poker Face turns into an art heist movie. Playing a game of wits between the criminal's vs Crowe. Poker Face is a tale of two movies. Slow and reflective in the first half, and second half is fast action paced. Probably a better book than a film. First half a three, and second half is a seven. Split the difference 5 stars.

Natasha Lyonne Is the next Columbo
If Murder She Wrote and The Incredible Hulk had a baby that aspired to be Columbo with a lot of swearing, it would be Poker Face. This is so cliche it's brilliant. It's a total throwback to 70's and 80's TV, even the font used for the title screen and stars is reminiscent of 40+ years ago. I swear Natasha Lyonne even sounds like Columbo. She's tenacious and keeps coming back like he always did. Now if she could just be getting chased out only to stop, hold up a finger, and say, "One more thing...". The guest stars are fantastic. It's just a fun show that doesn't take itself too seriously, nor does it try to pretend to be something it's not. I absolutely love it.

Not great but certainly not bad either!
I found this film to be a mixed bag of good and bad.

The first 20 minutes it tries to be way too clever and some of it is just nonsense. Some of the flashbacks and plots just don't come out later in the film.

Once they get the cars from the garage, it starts to get a lot better. The story really starts to unfold and the game begins.

The ending was good, it wraps it up nicely and the added bonus is that it was only on for 90 minutes! So many films drag on for hours, that it was refreshing to watch one in 90 minutes!

The sets used are awesome, as are the cars. There's clearly been a good budget for the production.

All in all, it was definitely worth watching and nowhere near as bad as some of these reviews are making out.

    Poke Me in the Face
The story line must have sounded better on paper because it never translated very well to the screen. I appreciate Russell Crowe's effort to make a compelling movie, but it falls short of being a convincing story. The only character with any depth is Crowe.

Interesting how some of the childhood friends had strong Aussie accents when they were young, but as adults several speak with an American accent.

It could have been worse. Jake could have been a poor gambler, a real thief, the wine bottles empty, the poison real, the paintings fake and everyone dies as they fight over a vial off antidote. That might actually have been more creative than this movie.

Maybe that's the coming sequel, Poke Me in the Face. That's what I felt like doing to myself for staying up to watch this sleeper. I know R. C. can do better and he will in his next movie.

    Over before I knew it!
This is a down to earth, enthralling and no holds barred story about true family, learned wisdom, generosity and faithfulness. It's also a blokes' story about choices and consequences, opportunities squandered and how to make the most of new chances. There's plenty of fast action, no convoluted storyline, although it isn't really predictable, and no overblown dialogue to ruin it. It's absolutely Australian but translates well into any culture, I would think. And there's a treat for all with a brief shared screen between two Statesmen of storytelling. I reckon this will be a repeat watch for me.

    What a stinker!
When I tuned into this, I figured I would be getting a low-grade low budget B movie. This was absolutely unwatchable. It's amazing that someone who has done as many movies as of Russell Crowe has done simply doesn't seem to know how to make a film. The voice over. The dreadful acting. The tediously obvious plot. I will say the scenery was quite nice. And it had some very good artwork. But without a doubt, this is got to be one of the worst Australian movies I've ever seen. It's almost hard to believe that Russell Crowe seems to have learned nothing about filmmaking. Old mate Russ should stick to acting and not try to write or direct.

This is absolutely not worth your time.

I wish there was a way we could give zero stars or negative stars because this should never have been made.
