Vendetta

When his daughter is murdered, William Duncan takes the law into his own hands, setting out on a quest for retribution. After killing the street thug responsible for her death, he finds himself in the middle of a war with the thug's brother, father, and their gang, who are equally hell-bent on getting even. What ensues is a tense back-and-forth game of vengeance. By the end, William comes to find that the quest for revenge never has a winner.

Not a digified ending for Willis
This movie has to take responsible for giving one of the most productive action actors, an in-dignifying ending to his career.

Not only with the already mentioned plot-glitches and goofs (the attack at the motel in daylight, followed by the adjacent car chase in the middle of the night all of a sudden. I mean, sure the sun can set quite fast around the Equator ... but not in 30 seconds.

Then we have the back-to-the-80s-action movies big goof with unlimited-ammo-guns. I estimated one single guy firing over 50 bullets just sitting in the car.

No, if you really like Bruce Willis .. then you should avoid this movie .. or even better, become a conspiracy theorist and hope that they used CGI to ad BW's face upon another actor, as this is such a low-mark that it should be sued for irreparable damage to the Willis heritage.

    Utterly Laughable
The premise of the story had promise, but this movie is let down by bad script and terrible action sequences. Particularly the questionable tactics employed by the main protagonist (who's a gulf war vet) when under fire. Add to this the seemingly hard to kill bad guy (Theo Rossi), who (over) acted like an immortal being, and simply stood still without cover while a gun battle ensues around him.

Despite some weak directing, some actors did well with their characters. By far the standout was Thomas Jane. IMO his portrayal of his character (Dante) even surpasses the main character (William Duncan) played by Clive Standen. I think a spin-off movie about Dante would be interesting.

Bruce Willis' character is just a footnote in this movie. A minor role. Perhaps the producers hired him simply as a "name" to attract audiences to the movie.

VERDICT: A predictable story. And while not a total disaster, it is left wanting, and falls short in many areas. Not the worst movie, but not good neither.
