Another awesome addition to the Mortal Kombat animated universe
Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms (2021) is a movie that I recently watched on HBOMAX. This movie has two parallel storylines with one following Raiden and friends being attacked by Shao Khan. They agree to fight Shao Khan in a final Mortal Kombat in hopes of winning and stopping him from conquering and ruling the realms. Meanwhile, Scorpion in hell is sent on a mission with a key that will release the "one being" who will destroy the universe. Sub-Zero will setout to stop him.

This movie is directed by Ethan Spaulding (Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge) and contains the voices of Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter), Joel McHale (Spy Kids 4), Ike Amadi (TrollHunters), Grey Griffin (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) and Bayardo De Murguia (Tiny Pretty Things).

The action scenes in this are out of this world with tremendous fight scenes, blood, guts and gore. The x-ray and bone breaking scenes were so good. The depiction of the characters is perfect, both the good guys and bad guys, except maybe Johnny Cage. I didn't love his depiction or voice. The depiction of the realms and universe that Mortal Kombat takes in is brilliantly presented and fascinating. I adored the other species either in the battles or backdrops. The ending battles were really good, especially the very end against "The One." The final Raiden flash was awesome and sets up another movie perfectly.

Overall, this is another awesome addition to the Mortal Kombat animated universe. The animated films are actually better than the live action attempts. I would score this a 9/10 and strongly recommend it.

    Really enjoyable
Mortal Kombat Legends: battle of the realms

Really gory and tasteful action scenes (not with the x-ray reveals of fatalities). It has its goofs and inconsistencies, but remains really enjoyable!
