    Slow start, big payoff
"You Hurt My Feelings" might seem slow to kick off, but it evolves into a captivating and thought-provoking narrative. Led by the incomparable Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Beth, the film is made up of a stellar cast. However, the true gem is Jeannie Berlin's portrayal of Beth's mother, Georgia-an underrated actress who shines in her role. The story unfolds with multiple layers, adding depth to the overall experience. The humor is subtly woven throughout, delivered with wit and finesse that avoids feeling forced. While the initial pace may deter some, perseverance should leave you with a satisfying journey. Stick with it, and you'll discover its worth.

This is the problem with streaming services.
The problem with streaming sevices is that bland, predictable, boring drek like this is just waiting for you to stumble upon.

Four tedious well to do white New Yorkers obsess over the most mundane problems. And talk endlessly about them. Watching Julia Louis Dreyfuss try to do dramatic acting is more painful than having a tooth pulled without Novacaine.

Remember when David Cross was funny? It seems that was decades ago. Here he's dreadfully boring and just sad. And the girl from Joan of Arcadia has gotten old. Really, really old.

My wife is sleeping in her chair right now while this movie never ends. Send help.

    you hurt my feelings
Fairly charming, NYC comedy from Nicole Holofcener that moves skillfully from sweet to astringent to sad and back again to sweet. Some nice observations on the neuroses of yuppie New Yorkers, like a paranoid patient who feels his therapist is willfully stuffing his trashcan with kleenex to impart the false message that he's so sensitive he induces tears among his clientele. Also good performances from all five lead actors. If I have any serious criticism it is, perhaps, that the film kind of peters out instead of ending with a climactic scene that unites all five loving but discontented characters. All in all, though, this is a good example of one of my favorite, alas too seldom seen, film phenomena, namely the taking of serious stuff lightly. And did I mention that I often laughed out loud (like when Michaela Watkins is handling an ugly but erotic light fixture and when Jeannie Berlin's quietly maddening mom keeps Playbills of plays she's never seen prominently displayed in her apartment)? Give it a B plus.
