Fresh Kills is a place and a state of mind - brava!
Yesterday, I saw the 10:15 am screening of this film at the AMC Empire 25 (Manhattan). Gripping, frightening, tragic with some hope sprinkled in, so very realistic. I'll never look at Alfonso's Pastry Shoppe the same way again. Using her blood, sweat and tears, Jennifer Esposito has created and shown us an important American story from a completely new perspective. As an Italian-American from the Midwest who moved to Staten Island in the late '80s, I am in awe of how she captured that moment in time. Congratulations to her cast, to her behind-the-scenes crew, and especially to her. Brava, Ms. Esposito! Brava!

A MUST SEE! FRESH KILLS HITS HOME
Jennifer Espisito does a phenomenal job as a writer, director and actor to bring you into a world you rarely get to see. This film takes you on an emotional ride, back into time and pulls the curtains back to see what a real family with Mafia ties goes through. Thr film is real, raw funny, heartbreaking and intense. The movie takes you into the authenticity of the times of the 80 and 90s in NY with an impressive cast. This film will make you feel and everyone can relate to it on some level. Odessa Azion and Emily Bader are incredible and you can't help connect with them. You will not be leave being disappointed! It's a must watch! This film definitely should be up for awards! Jennifer Espisito work as an actor and director is powerful!
