    This was so boring
Let me just start this by saying that I adore Emily Blunt, she is stunning and beautiful. But why ohh why she agreed to take this movie.

This movie is extremely boring, comedy parts feels forced and blunt. Of course the stunt scenes are beautiful, with great cgi effects. But I think that all that money that was put into those beautiful cgi scenes could have been used to make a better storyline.

No deepness in the characters, no character development, dull comedy, also bad cast (I only liked Emily, Ryan, and the dog).

I almost stopped watching this worthless movie 3 times after just 50 minutes in, it was a real struggle to finish this movie. This movie felt like it was dragging and dragging and dragging and then dragging some more. I would much rather watch the paint dry.

If you love Emily, go watch A Lady In The Train where she was magnificent, if you love Ryan then watch The Nice Guys.

An action movie held up by it's own tropes
Despite a stellar performance from most of the main cast, and the occasional sarcastically funny moment of wit pulled from Ryan Gosling's unemotional performance, this film is held up by its willing uptake of common action movie tropes such as explosions fireballs car chases and overly complex combat sequences. Surprising twist the inclusion of these comedically common tries allow us this movie to become more of a ironic parody of the action movie industry rather than Attempting to create something new in a genre that has very much been played to death in the preceeding years. This strange blend of an action movie that is unapologetically what it is, and a dry 4th-wall breaking comedy works surprisingly well.
