Don't know about you, but I have watched more than five times
I am aware that not everyone will enjoy this film; in fact, if you were to review it objectively, you might not give it much of a grade. However, do not judge it by that, you should watch it, and if you go by my experience then if you watch it, one time you will watch it again multiple times. There is something about the acting and cinematography in this film that shines. Of course, there is Ana de Arias effect. But it is not only that because this is more watchable than her other films.

    Instances I liked:-
    • I am the thing you killed for
    • car driving Scene
    • giving apple
    • and the smile in the end.

    Betrayal of a woman
If I want to tell you the summary of the story, there is a couple where this woman cheats with one person every time and her husband kills them one by one and finally his wife finds out and stops doing this. It didn't have any special content, but it's worth watching once, but the fact that such a patient man is really admirable for a woman, I really don't know whether to call this husband's work bravery or stupidity.

You really don't know what to do when your wife cheats in front of your eyes and with complete insolence. At least I was very shocked in this movie that he didn't raise his hands on his wife even once.

Of course, I will also say that I watch it mostly because of the actors and the attractive scenes 🌚

The film was supposed to be called DEEP BOTTOM
I have always been not indifferent to the films of Adrian Lyne. I am very interested in how the director works with the actors and the script. I love to watch all his films (with the exception of LOLITA). Lyne always very skillfully and competently showed human weaknesses and vices. That's basically what I like about his films. It was as if he explored the nature of human vices... If we talk about the moral and ethical side of films, then Adrian Lyne often crossed this line, but at the same time he skillfully explained how and why the characters of his films do this. Or at least his films made the audience think seriously and ask questions myself... Regarding DEEP WATERS... As soon as I learned that mr. Lyne returned after a 20-year directorial break with a new film, I, like a child, was lit up with the desire to see what such a provocative and interesting thing he would give us.

My expectations were in vain. I will explain why this is so.

First of all, after watching film, there were even more questions than at the beginning of the film. Ok, well, why live with a person who humiliates you in front of everyone, including in front of your own child? But this was not enough for the director, and he went even further and showed how the nymphomaniac wife brings her boyfriends in full view of everyone, and in the presence a CHILD !! THIS IS normal?! Hardly... And not a normal husband is one who tolerates such an attitude towards himself. His deviantness just revealed itself in the fact that he, like a maniac, killed her lovers. He could just divorce this slutt, thereby saving himself and their child from mental suffering. I understand that in the modern world, where morality has long begun to decompose and stink, many will not see anything wrong with the actions of both characters. Back in 1989, director Brian Yuzna wittily noticed this moment in his film SOCIETY (1989), where he ridiculed high society in a comic and absurd form (I also did review this film).

If I start to begin to discuss in detail and analyze the actions of the heroes, I will not have enough time or energy. Let me just say briefly - the actions are illogical and stupid. In real life, such couples need the help of a psychiatrist, since both clearly have mental problems. There is nothing to think about here ... A specialist should deal with this. The ending of the film is, to put it mildly, fake and unrealistic.

If you take the director's previous films, then one way or another he managed to try to figure out or hint why the characters in his film act so disgustingly, and also show that such actions have very bad consequences and punishment for their deeds. In the same film, there is not a single positive character and one who could sympathize with. All are sucks. No one repented or realized their mistakes. Their actions are just wild trash. And behind this dubious couple, a psychiatric hospital has been 'crying' for a long time. If it is even easier to formulate the plot: a story about a prostitute and a sucker who, for some vague reason, decided that they kind of "love" each other and decided to tie the knot.

On the positive side, we can note the quality work of the director of photography, editing and excellent original music by Marco Beltrami. The composer really managed to create a good score with deep and sensual themes, which is quite surprising for me, since before his scores meant nothing to me at all and rather annoyed me.

Only to respect the legacy of Adrian Lyne and to the advantages listed above, I will put 5/10.

    Can't recommend this film...

    Watchable but it isn't great.
I can't say I was impressed by this movie. The acting wasn't bad but that's about it. Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas did their job, played their roles like the script said, but unfortunately the script wasn't great. The rest of the cast was also not bad. It could have been better, if for example the police would have been investigating the cases a bit, just to make it a bit suspenseful, but now you just have a bland and not very believable story with an extremely stupid ending, almost like they couldn't be bothered by it anymore. Deep Water doesn't get a high rating and it's totally justified, it should and could have been better.

    Really good movie
Its a great movie. Very good story, directing, acting.

Not everyone carries our personal relationship complexities in same way. Infact what the movie shows is a very common path a human being could tread. The emotions are very relatable, though not everyone had to have same experiences in life emotions could be. Sometimes our own emotions could feel strange, and we could watch ourselves become a stranger. Its beautifully portrayed in acting.

For example when Melinda tells vic "do you know I love you" and puts him on spot and Vic almost gives in, but composes himself quickly to give composed smile of acceptance like saying "ye".

This direction and acting parts were very good. This kind of movie receives mixed reviews all over the world and this movie is not exception.
