Another Low Budget Depressing Art Film
Another art movie that could have many possible interpretations. It's not there to impress you but to make you feel something? And perhaps make you think? Unfortunately I got so lost in the confusing story, depressing emotions, and zero chemistry between the lead actors. That I kept hoping the movie would end soon or at least end on a happy note. Unfortunately it starts and ends in the same place. Accomplishing nothing.

The first thing that needs to be noted. The actors had no chemistry. She was good. There was a free wild spirit about her. But he was a horrible human being and I felt no "love" between them. If that's what they think love is, they have no idea what love is.

The story is told in reverse. Literally it slowly back tracts. You start with the end of the relationship and end with how it all started. By doing this it makes the film confusing. And hard to watch.

I think the biggest turn off was Murphy (Karl Glusman) He was unlikeable at all times. I never felt sorry for him once. He was extremely selfish. Extremely possessive. Insecure. Depressing. And had no idea what love was. Even in the sex scenes he always rushed his pleasure. It wasn't about the emotion of it or giving to his partner to make her feel goos. It was always about quickly finding his own peak. He constantly came and they never showed Elektra finding her orgasm. Elektra always looked bored except the scenes where she was with a women. She really lit up sexually, but they were always cut short as Murphy would immediately interrupt and get in the middle of it trying to make it more about him then what she needed or wanted. It honestly felt like Murphy did not belong in the three some scenes. He was just on the way. It should have been the two girls. That's what Elektra needed and wanted sexually. But as always Murphy made it about himself.

It was exhausting watching Murphy go into his extreme jealous rages. He was allowed to cheat on Elektra all the time with zero thought of it being wrong. But if she looked or touched someone else he was calling her every name in the book and getting ready to kill the guy while screaming at her for how horrible she is. On top of everything he never did see or understand that he was the problem in the whole thing. And he never tried to fix himself or be a better human being. Instead he placed blame on everyone else.

The unassimilated and many sex scenes did not make up for how bad the overall movie was. The scenes lacked emotion. If I wanted to see emotionless sex with lots of graphic nudity I could easily look elsewhere. It's only entertaining if there's emotion. If there's love and connection with the unassimilated graphic sex. But the movie lacked that entirely. As the actors had zero chemistry in every way.

    No
I don't know who thought this movie was a good idea but at least they tried. This movie only gets a 4 from me and not a lower rating is because this movie isn't bad but it's not good. Avoid if possible because you'll probably end up wasting your time watching this, like I have and many other people.
