kevin_robbins - 29 June 2024 The Garfield Movie is a must-see for fans of the universe and a solid relaunch of the series. My daughter and I recently watched The Garfield Movie (2024) in theaters. The storyline follows Garfield and Odie being kidnapped by a villain seeking revenge against Garfield's dad. Garfield's dad comes to the rescue, but the three of them must go on a mission together for the villain if they want their freedom back. Can Garfield work with a dad who deserted him?
Directed by Mark Dindal (Chicken Little), the film stars Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction), Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction), Snoop Dogg (Training Day), and Nicholas Hoult (Warm Bodies).
My daughter was super excited to see this movie, so we caught it before it left theaters. The animation was excellent and a solid depiction of the universe. There's some impressive use of lighting throughout that was enjoyable. The voice cast was amazing, and I adored every scene with Ving Rhames. The storyline was solid and had some fun subplots, though I wasn't thrilled with how they dealt with the villain at the end. Odie's depiction, animation style, and overall delivery were outstanding. There are some hilarious sequences, including the depiction of the farm, the power line, the training scenes, and the dogs. This is far from perfect, but it isn't a waste of time either.
In conclusion, The Garfield Movie is a must-see for fans of the universe and a solid relaunch of the series. I would score it a 6/10 and recommend seeing it once.
MikeZhou49 - 16 June 2024 Watch it if you hate Mondays...a lot! For those who hate Mondays,Garfield is the purr-fect metaphor for all that terrible situation on Monday, also a good metaphor for those who like foods,Lasagna, and Lazy comfort, and for this film,You can't deny the crazy truth about the Monday-hating,Lasagna-lover Cat's new movie that hit the top not only the US,but on China,Mexico,And everywhere, and a wild spoof on Mission:Impossible,Jail Movies,Maria,Romance,Origin Story, and all kinds of that,Not just some plots of goods and nuts could help, the important Things is comes from Animations,We even see some new characters too,for instance,we already seen Garfield has a month, but Nobody see that Garfield has a father before, until now,We see that Garfield's Secret father has Revealed,as Samuel Jackson voiced Vic in this movie, and even got Chris Pratt as Garfield, despite Chris has some exception with Garfield, but most in common, the film also has Snoop Dogg,Bowen Yang, and even from the executive producers' room,we also see the Garfield's Creator Jim Davis,HK Film actor/producer Louis Koo and many others are unexpected in it,however,we still don't know if these characters would be Return in other media Or not,but only time will tell,we might unsure like what we unsure on Monday, but in the meantimes,You might see a lot of Funpart of the movie,Such as Animations,Voice acting and even Surprising appearance from the Comic Strip characters in some clips, but also has some plotholes and nuts in it,such as Plot mistaking, crazy and nonsense elements, and some unrelated plot points in it,however,Animation in this film Were Amazing, even if there's all the plots and errors,Good Things and nonsensical Things,we'd still Glad to see Garfield return to the big screen once more!
dbirckett-58857 - 7 June 2024 I liked it. The writing was actually pretty good. It's easily the best Garfield movie to date. The 2 featuring the voice of Bill Murray were just okay but not memorable. Although this movie is fully animated, i am glad they went in this direction because to me they finally got it right. I feel like this movie actually revitalized the Garfield brand. I also saw that they even did a promotional series with Tastykake as well. If you have time i wholeheartedly recommend giving this movie a chance. I'm actually impressed as it gave me a new appreciation for Garfield on the big screen and enough to make me look forward to the sequel. It's family friendly. Ages 7 and up.
theotherblonde - 2 June 2024 John ...Bury me in cheese I saw this out of pure nostalgia. Because I have a Garfield plushie toy from the eighties and I watch the specials every year for Thanksgiving Halloween and Christmas.
Started off painfully slow but got better after Garfield and Odie got kidnapped by an evil blackmailing white cat that was like cruella deville and met a lovelorn depressed purple cow 🐮 and a crazy security guard out for justice.
It's very slapstick humor and lots of puns .The music was old school and nice. The people playing Garfield and jinx the villain did a great job . Samuel l Jackson and Arby's commercial guy are great in it. It will make you crave lasagna, pizza and popcorn.
It's just a cute little movie. Nothing more nothing less. No preaching. The animation looks exactly 💯 right. I can't believe the critics gave this so much hate.
