More cheese than a French Wine bar
Okay! Let's start with the good stuff. It started okay, but I seem to have suffered from deva vu. There were a lot of familiar sequences in this hocum fun.

Travelling through the moon: Star Treck The Movie.

The moon skimming earth: Independence Day Resurgence.

The Chrysler Building: The Day After Tomorrow.

The opening attack on the space shuttle: Armageddon.

    Dr Houseman's reincarnation: Transcendence.

Look, it's okay to be inspired by other movies but these were almost mirror images of them. Still, it was an enjoyable way to waste a couple of hours.

There was no real depth to the characters. We were offered a xx years later scenario that failed to explain how Halle Berry (Jocinda) and Patrick Wilson's (Brian Harper) marriage failed.

Did Brian and his ex get back together. How will John Bradley (Dr Houseman) now control the moon megastructure? It was all too open, almost like 'Let's just finish the movie and move on' carelessness.

Fun but could have been way better.

Not the Independence Day you are hoping for...
Roland Emmerich directed "Independence Day" which is one of my favorite Si Fi alien films and a very iconic film of 90's. I still remember i was only 8 years old when I saw Independence Day on a VHS with my dad, That big spaceship revel above New York city, what a great memory.

But since then, all his films have been very disappointing, as a filmmaker he has not evolved and he's still making films like he made in the 90's.

The story is mediocre and at times very Chessy.

I sincerely hope that Emmerich starts evolving his film making before studios stop giving him films, the overall plots of his films are still interesting as far as Si Fi alien films are concerned, if he can bring some changes to his technique of storytelling and higher better script writers then I don't see why Emmerich can't make a comeback.

    A fun moon disaster movie
I loved this film .tongue in cheek moon crashing disaster movie, which doesn't take itself too seriously.

All the negative reviews are suspicious ,this film has faults but its not a bad movie.it has lots of action.comedy. Halle Berry. What more do they want.

The mission is difficult and exciting. The British guys plays a alien ufo conspiracy nut perfectly.

The cinematography is as good as any top film.

It doesn't feel cheap.at all and the dialogue is fine for a disaster movie.

And halls Berry has got more attractive .

The effect of the monster in the moon look realistic.

I'd happily watch this film again. I can see it becoming a cult classic.

    Started out decent...
This movie had a decent start to it, but then it just started to play into all the nonsense that some people on this planet believe. That the moon is actually a "megastructure" created by aliens...not actually the moon. And that all humans were created by aliens. Or some such nonsense like that. The second half of the movie I was just rolling my eyes the entire time. The three stars is for Patrick Wilson, and the fact that he's a good actor, trying to sludge thru this idiotic movie. Even Halle Berry was unwatchable. The only reason I finished it is to see how they came to an ending of this silliness.

    Sleepfall
Thank you Ronald, thank you, thank you!

Moonfall is a great movie. After almost 2 sleepless nights, I've finally managed for fall asleep thanks to this beauty of a movie.

The godawful CGI, cheesy and lame dialougs and forgeable acting truly helped me fall asleep after only an hour of watching this movie.

Halle Berrie and Patrick Wilson were somewhat decent in this film, while Charlie Plummer, Wenwen Yu and the kid who played Jimmy looked totally unintersted in doing this movie, especially Plummer, he probably wanted to fall asleep as well during shooting, just as I have during watching it.

I can't wait for Moonfall 2: Day of the Tide for another round of good sleep.

Moonfall movie review by Most Fair
The Moonfall movie wants too much without doing anything.

No answer is provided to one of the thousands dilemmas or aspects raised in this movie. And whether or not not the intention, it only worsens the experience from an audience point of view.

Budget of this movie was obviously spent on salaries. Production, CGI, plot etc are executed on a low budget.

I won't get into details of the story or plot, as you shouldn't really be bothered. If you choose to watch Moonfall, please do so without any hope or expectation to be mentally challenged. To be fair my hardest challenge about Moonfall was to stay awake - and I failed on several occasions!

    Moonfall Review
It was definitely entertaining I'll give it that. Disaster films just aren't my thing and I don't think Hollywood has really cared about them for several years now and with the release of this, I think the big budget disaster film may finally be dead and what a sour note to end out on. Moonfall's story has a fine premise but as the story goes along the story gets more and more insane to the point where you are questioning your sanity by the end of the film. I was questioning by the end how we had gotten from the initial concept to here and I really didn't like it. The twist feels like it comes out of a different movie that Emmerich had written and was forced to splice in the twist from whatever other movie he was writing. Besides this, the rest of the film is just mind numbingly basic and boring. The actual disasters scene here aren't nowhere near as interesting as others. Hell, Emmerich's other disaster films like 2012 and Independence Day have much much cooler world ending scenes than this film and he was given a bigger budget here than Independence Day. The disaster scenes here just felt stale and boring. We've already seen him direct disaster films like this before but arguably better in basically every other film. It also doesn't help that the visual effects feel like they come out of the PS3. All of the performances here aren't great but they aren't godawful as with pretty much every other Emmerich movie and nothing here just feels inspired at all. At the end of the day, it feels like Emmerich trying to recreate some of his biggest hits without it actually feeling cool. If you want a good time with your friends AND are looking for a bad movie then this might be up your alley but you can definitely find a better funny bad movie.

    how did this get made?
This film is terrible. I couldn't even make it past the 30 min mark before turning it off. There are so many holes in the plot it's not even funny. The actors look like they're basically just going through the motions and half the time thinking to themselves how the hell did I get myself into this and how do I get out of it.

One of the most annoying plot holes was a director of NASA saying to his team that they're not say anything about what they've learned, when this would be covered by their contract under national security and breaching it would end you up in prison.

Oh and it seems that no one but some guy who is doing a minimum wage job has noticed the change in the moon's orbital pattern for the last few years.

This is why I love science
When I dropped out of school, I never looked back, I knew I wasn't missing much, most of it was completely useless, stuff that I would never use, or would never care about. But there always was one exception: science. I miss science because it felt like an amazing world of new possibilities, stuff that you'd never guess existed. And I was sad that by dropping out of school, there would be so much that I'd never learn.

That's why this type of movie is always welcome to me. Like, maybe it's common knowledge to you and your friends, but personally I had no idea that the Moon was a megastructure before watching this movie. So it was even more fascinating for me to discover it as the story unfolded. I love how the movie takes its time showing us how it was discovered thanks to the effort of a scientist that no one would believe before that. That's really inspiring.

Anyway, I don't like to call myself an intellectual because it's a bit pretentious, but I have to say that I pride myself in watching movies where you learn something. Where it's not just fireworks and spectacle. And this is one of the best movies in this style for sure. Don't turn off your brain before starting this one.
