Second hand embarrassment
This was nothing like the games. The movie was barely about the super mario bro. It was more about peach. The movie was all over the place. I myself had a really hard time paying attention to this one. It was just over the top stupid. I couldn't stand the feminist girl power vibe peach was giving off. Like girl friend get over yourself. For it to be the super mario Bros Luigi was in it for like 15 minutes. Bowser made me want to rip my hair out. There was so much second hand embarrassment I was getting from thus movie it was ridiculous. This is one I don't ever want to see again in my life. Take it for what it is. A kids movie.
This movie is a cheery and fun addition to the Super Mario franchise. Not sure why some have given it such low ratings. Its aimed at children and from the start to finish it is a bright and colorful adaption. My children loved it at the cinemas and have watched again since. Admittedly, once is enough as it does become annoying, however I can appreciate that I am not the target audience. Having played numerous Super Mario games in the past, I can honestly say they have stuck to the 'source' material and in parts added to it in a sensible manner. I do hope they make a sequel as I will be going back to watch it on the big screen.
