    BORING af
The most exciting part of this movie is the cover art. I had high hopes for this movie, however 45 minutes and I turned it off. I couldn't take another minute, dragging by.. The Main characters are not interesting at all. There's not really anything that grabs your attention in these first 45 minutes even if the movie does pick up the pace that is too long period of time to wait for anything at all to happen. A mature audience thriller should grab and hold your interest long enough to get to the mid part of the movie. This movie is one hour and 33 minutes long oh my goodness I don't believe I could live this long watching this.

The Monroes Take Care of Their Own!
Miss Lauren Elizabeth Monroe was born into the prestigious and powerful Monroe family. In an effort to make her domineering father Archer proud of her, she rose to become the district attorney of Chicago. Upon the death of Archer, Lauren learns from Harold, the family's loyal attorney, that the father left a final task to be performed exclusively by his daughter.

Archer made many mistakes in his life, but his most serious was probably trusting in Lauren to handle this unfinished piece of family business. Lauren's younger son, the cutthroat politician William Monroe, would probably have been a better choice. For Lauren now must deal with a man that her father has held in captivity in a subterranean cell on the family estate for thirty years!

The filmmakers developed superb dramatic tension between the prisoner, Morgan Warner, and Lauren. There was an ebb-and-flow to their interactions with Lauren faced with a difficult ethical decision with what to do with her captive. For his part, Morgan is much like the Count of Monte Cristo, who was locked away by his enemies in the forbidding prison of the Château d'If, desperately hoping for a chance to escape.

The pacing is brisk throughout the film, especially in the home stretch when Lauren's mother Catherine becomes prominent. The mother is shrewd like her husband, and she speaks what is probably the most important line in film when she proclaims that "the Monroes take care of their own!"
