    Good, silly, and coordinated
Andrew Garfield is such a great person for this role. In this the actors in the background have silly moves, wearing a book on their head. If you like music, you will like this 90% singy song movie about a musician getting his musical performance heard. The only reason this was a 7/10 for me was because I am not really into the story or into musicals. But, I like the rhymes and the popular song with them in the chair. But this is a great film for kids and families, and single people just wanting a good heavy story movie.

The pace is alright, I wasn't too invested. But they were very good in vocals and backround of the story.

In the world without Sondheim, it hits me different.
A film that depicts the unknown anguish of Jonathan Larson, who is well known as the composer of the Broadway musical "RENT" and his countdown to the age of 30. Of course, it's musical style.

In a word, I was impressed. It may be a little unsatisfactory for those who have "In the Heights" in mind. However, there is nothing less than the quality as a movie and the charm of the song.

He is celebrating his birthday soon. It's not just a birthday. It's his 30th birthday. Steven Sondheim, who made a great contribution to the musical world for half a century, has already written "West Side Story" in his twenties and succeeded. What about Jonathan on tanother hand? He's in poverty in my daily life, so I can't create masterpieces. His lover Susan is fulfilling her dream of becoming a teacher, and his friend Michael is working steadily...

I can hear the sound of the clock constantly from the beginning. His impatience seems to be contagious. "30/90" is sung there.

I was drawn into a splendid singing with humor by Andrew Garfield, as if he projected Jonathan's warm personality as it is. What made me realize here is, of course, the singing ability is also important, but what hits the hearts of the audience the most is the feeling put into the song. Combined with the catchiness of the song, it was a wonderful performance.

Actually, I was surprised to hear that this is Lin-Manuel Miranda's first film. If you pay attention to the details, the roughness will appear. But that's not the point. It's a wonderful way to draw Jonathan's suffering. As a Broadway musical composer, I thought it was because he had respect for Jonathan. It's a work that I was able to create because I really understand him.

In addition, the song I particularly liked in the main story was "Why." It's a song I would like to recommend because I tend to focus on the title song, such as 30/90" and "Come to your senses".

    "When I was 9, Michael and I..."

It's a song with memories with Michael on the song. When I was 9 years old, I sang "Yellow Bird" and "Let's fly a kite" at the show with Michael. We went to "West Side Story" in high school, but Michael played the role of Doc who didn't sing." I thought. Hey, what a way to spend the day."

"What a wonderful day!" I cried at Jonathan's performance, which made me think about it. And on the way, the repries of "Come to your senses" was also inserted, and the end was very warm.

    Amazing film
Andrew Garfield never fails to astound and amaze with his acting, and now even singing. Lin Manuel Miranda nailed it with his debut film. One of the best musical adaptations in recent history and truly deserving of all of it's praise and much much more. Not to mentioned the rest of the star studded cast. So faithfully recreating the musical and presenting the life of the wonderful Jon Larson is truly impressive. This movie is a masterpiece of filmmaking, and is sure to leave audiences spellbound and inspired. If you appreciate great movies, particularly in the musical genre, then this one is a must watch.

    Here Comes the Boom
Some movies you watch and you just feel the passion behind the camera. Tick, tick... Boom is now on that list. Watching this, I can't help but feel the love and respect Miranda has for Larson. Perhaps they walked a similar path, maybe he looked to Larson as a kindred spirit or it was simply a case of admiration for a colleague but this entire film is a love letter to someone that I knew scant little about. Garfield lives it. The work he puts in, immersing himself in this character is really something exceptional. The whole thing works so well that, when the curtain falls at the end... I've seen things like that a dozen times before in different biopics but I can't think of another that hit me quite as this did.

For those, like me, that don't much care for Rent, this is still an exceptional watch. So here I sit, wanting to heap more praise onto it but it's really just a case of everything coming together just so well that the whole experience sings. There's nothing splashy here. Maybe the music but that's about the only thing that really stands out. It's the execution that dazzles. Absolutely recommend. It's on Netflix. Watch it.

Great musical I didn't expect to like so much
I was scrolling through all the rubbish on Netflix looking for something to watch about to switch to prime when I stumbled on the trailer for this. I'd heard a tiny bit about it and hadn't thought it would be my kind of thing but the trailer looked decent so I thought I'd give it a try and wow I actually ended up really enjoying it. The events of the narrative are embedded within a musical being put on by Johnathan Larson about his life and this form worked excellently, constantly switching from the exaggerated showmanship of stage performance to the naturalism of real life. The film undeniably belongs to Andrew Garfield, who commands the screen with a level of flamboyant charisma seldom seen anywhere else. He also flexes some serious singing muscles in my favourite performance of his yet (I still haven't seen Silence) and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he gets nominated for the Oscar. My two favourite songs were definitely 30/90, a song detailing Jonathon's angst about turning 30 which opens the film with an electric energy, and Therapy, a jolly sounding song about the difficulties of modern romance interspersed with a tense argument between Jonathon and his girlfriend Susan (this is done so well and works as a masterful juxtaposition). Whilst I found just a couple moments to be a bit on the nose (a close up of Michael's crying face as he repeatedly sings "is this real life" definitely didn't have its intended affect on me), overall I had tonnes of fun watching this film, often rewatching songs and consistently enjoying the company of the characters (Garfield's Larson stole the show but Alexandra Shipp and Vanessa Hudgens as Susan and Karessa were also quite memorable).

You should definitely check out tick, tick...BOOM! - if it's not what you'd usually go for you might be pleasantly surprised, like me. In quite a stacked year for films, this one definitely stands out as one of my favourites of 2021.
