What a fun goofy horror movie!
When this movie was first being promoted, I just Universal basically giving the finger to MGM and their 2019 remake of Child's Play. After watching the movie, I had some goofy fun with the movie.

Positives for M3GAN (2023): The title character of the movie was so much fun to watch on screen. The characters were pretty good for the most part. I had a lot of fun with the movie throughout the runtime.

Negatives for M3GAN (2023): This movie was obviously shot to be an R-Rated Movie because there are several scenes where there's going to be some gory kills. Also, the character of Katie was annoying at points.

Overall, M3GAN (2023) is a fun horror movie that I enjoyed and I highly recommend that you watch the unrated version of this movie just for some of the gory scenes.

    I thought it was good
This is a parable for AI. It even can be thought of as looking into the power others have over us. I mean I just let my cat in the door and I suddenly got a chill that this sentient being is in my house. How about when Megan takes over the drudgery of parenting "flush the toilet Cady" "wash your hands" "roll up your sleeves" repeated every time. Sounds good but how far to take the protective parenting. The boss of toy company Funki has some hilarious lines. I thought this was great! We really are going to get robots like this you know, if we don't have them already like Alexa! Fantastic movie!

    waste of time
The most frightening thing about this movie is the last scene where it leaves the hint that there will be a sequel to this joke. Please, don't do.it. No logic, a lame attempt to touch the AI subject, a doll that somehow tales control over everything and that was built within a day. The chinese guy had maybe one of the worst acting there is out there. The little girl acteduch better than anyone. All in all, this is not frightening, not making you contemplate, not a thriller actually and should have never aired. I dont understand the six and seven stars some people give it. Do not even bother to watch it.

M3GAN is actually a fun ride but probably forgettable.
Went seeing this today, having no high expectations. I didn't enjoy the first act, I found it so predictable and cliché, which is not a big surprise. I knew we'd have a progress and the gore in the second act, which the build-up in the first act made it evident. So much so I ended up enjoying the rest of the show. M3GAN kicked ass and that was fun. I was even caught by some of the jumpscares. I like how M3GAN looked but my main expectation was they'd go to a new direction with this kind of consuetudinary concept.

I don't find it as competitive as Conjuring films, yet ,by its own, it played nice enough.

Definitely will own a copy and leave it a room in my collection.

    I can't rate it 0 or I would
Disgustingly bad dialogue, poor execution, overall disappointment. Wanted to get up and leave the movie theater repeatedly. Not at all realistic or comedic or sarcastic or ironic or scary in ANY way.

If you're thinking about spending time or money on this movie, don't. As a theater lover I would've rather seen any other picture available.

Artificial intelligence is so poorly depicted and not at all explored. It lacks the beauty of ex-machina, the excitement of terminator, and the emotional attachment of Coralline. The only scenario in which I believe someone could possibly enjoy this movie is if they are looking for a very vanilla introduction to jumpscare horror.

Won't Hack the Horror Algorithm, but it's an Entertaining Watch
Megan (or M3gan) follows a woman, Gemma, who works for a toy company. She gets handed the responsibility of taking care of Cady, the daughter of her sister, who recently, along with her husband, has died in a car accident. Their relationship is difficult at first, as Gemma was not planning on taking care of a child. Gemma treks forward with a special project for her toy company and decides to test it out with Cady. This special project is M3gan, a doll that can communicate, teach, and take care of children. Things take a turn when the doll exhibits odd behavior and an unhealthy obsession for her is formed by Cady. I think it's safe to say that I describe this movie as entertaining. Sure, it won't revolutionize the horror genre and some of the acting is a bit hokey, but it has a straightforward approach, humility, and a campy nature to it that makes it fun to watch. The film doesn't take itself too seriously and there are some genuinely humorous moments. Overall, a decent horror flick and a recommendation from me. Final verdict: 7/10.

    Decent
I watched it yesterday and I have to say that it was pretty decent. When I thought of this movie I thought of Chucky, the doll movie that I grew up with along with Annabelle. Megan does knock it out the part, however, it will never hold a candle to my childhood horror movie dolls like Chucky and Annabelle. Either or the movie itself does keep you on the edge of your seat. This movie should be a lesson to those who rely too much on technology. Technology should not replace true love or the presence of another human being. There were some things that I just didn't understand which is why I couldn't give it 10/10 but I am glad that I saw this in theaters.

    MEGAN is a 1/10 Movie 🎥
The kid acting was throwing off the scenes that we're supposed to be serious. Bunch of throw away scenes, parents die and act like they never existed. What's with the doll dancing before she killes David Gemmas boss?

Idk I was not a fan, the trailer made it look much better then the movie was.

I would not spend the money on this movie as it looks like a cash grab, you get what you pay for and it's not even good it almost seems like you got robbed by watching such a lame as movie.

You will be very disappointed and you will get agitated At the acting that is portrayed will get you frustrated as they could have done a way better job then what they sold is the consumer.

    Robots too can get PTSD
I felt the first half of this movie was amazing. This is exactly what you would want the perfect child caretaker to be. It's probably close to what it would look like.

However, we're still being sold the impossible idea of a robot becoming sentient or close to it, almost a rehash of Artificial Intelligence 22 years later. I'm sorry but SIRI is not about to do this anytime soon.

If we assume the impossible then this is probably what would happen to a robot if it were to develop emotions and experience very traumatic events. They can't cry so they lash out. At first towards the source of the abuse and then towards everyone.

Probably the worst movie I've seen in the last 5 years
Which one was the robot? Allison Williams, or the mini Nicole Kidman thing? Ms. Williams had the emotional range of a potato in this film. Sister dies? Not a tear shed, does not even look slightly upset. None of the emotions matched the situations that were happening in the script. Why would the therapist checking on the child come in so aggressively and treat Allison as if she was in the wrong somehow and not providing a safe home, when the home was clearly safe? Hole in the fence that a vicious dog keeps going through? Drive to Lowe's and get a 2x4 to block it until you can get the fence properly fixed. She should have text money, so hiring someone to fix the fence shouldn't be an issue. I left the theater about 45 minutes into the movie because I couldn't take it anymore. Not one character in the film had any redeeming qualities, and I found myself wanting M3gan to kill them all. Once I realized that was unlikely, I left. Used my AMC movie pass to see it for free, but still somehow feel cheated. Actually annoyed with just how bad this was.
